Associate Lawyer - Tax

The Job

As an Associate within the Tax team, you will be expected to handle a wide range of tax-related responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Providing tax, legal, and business advisory services to clients, ensuring their best interests are met in line with the Firm’s high standards of practice;
• Acting as a key contributor within the Firm’s Tax Practice Group by sharing knowledge and experience – particularly in areas of tax law – with the Firm’s partners and employees;
• Offering tax advisory support in commercial transactions, with a focus on interpreting Maltese and EU VAT laws, as well as Maltese direct tax laws;
• Advising on tax-related legal matters in transactional, contentious, and strategic planning contexts, as required;
• Contributing to the development of the Firm’s expertise and reputation in tax and related legal areas, while supporting business development efforts;
• Promoting a collaborative, team-oriented environment in line with the Firm’s core values.

Requirements

‍The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Degree in Law;
• A Diploma or Masters’ degree in Tax Law will be considered an asset;
• A minimum of two years’ experience working in tax advisory;
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English;
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines independently.
