Audit Senior

Our client is seeking a qualified Audit Senior to join its growing Audit & Assurance team in Malta. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional looking to take greater ownership of engagements, work with a diverse client portfolio, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality assurance services.

Working closely with Managers and Partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing audit assignments, reviewing audit work, identifying key risks, and supporting junior team members throughout each engagement.

What is expected of you?

- Lead the day-to-day audit fieldwork across a diverse portfolio of client engagements
- Plan audit assignments and coordinate activities to ensure their efficient and timely completion
- Review audit working papers, supporting documentation, and evidence for accuracy, quality, and completeness
- Identify audit risks, findings, and areas requiring further investigation
- Discuss audit findings with clients and relevant internal stakeholders
- Resolve routine technical audit matters and respond professionally to client queries
- Ensure audit engagements are completed in accordance with applicable standards and agreed deadlines
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior members of the audit team
- Review the work completed by junior auditors and provide constructive feedback
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients

What are you expected to bring?

- An ACCA qualification or an equivalent recognised professional qualification
- A minimum of three years of experience within external audit
- Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing
- Good knowledge of IFRS and/or GAPSME
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- The ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively within deadlines
- A collaborative approach and the ability to support and mentor junior colleagues
- Experience using CaseWare or similar audit software would be considered an advantage
- Previous experience reviewing the work of junior auditors would be beneficial
