Bar Manager

Our client is on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to join their hospitality team in Malta.

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bar, leading and developing a high-performing team, and ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will combine strong leadership skills with commercial awareness and a genuine passion for hospitality, creating memorable guest experiences while driving team performance and achieving operational objectives.

What is expected from you?

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring exceptional service standards and operational efficiency
• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the bar team to deliver outstanding guest experiences
• Ensure all beverages are prepared and served in line with company standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines
• Deliver a warm, welcoming, and customer-focused experience while resolving guest feedback and concerns professionally
• Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor team members, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
• Prepare staff schedules and manage labour resources effectively in line with business requirements
• Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, place orders, and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Control beverage costs, minimise wastage, and support the achievement of revenue and profitability targets
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations
• Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and guest satisfaction
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the bar
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing success of the venue

  What are they looking for?

• Previous experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior bar leadership role within a high-volume hospitality environment
• Proven experience working in premium restaurants, hotels, private members' clubs, or luxury hospitality venues
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent knowledge of bar operations, cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
• Commercial awareness with experience managing stock control, labour costs, and operational budgets
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards
• A proactive, hands-on, and customer-focused approach
• Fluency in English; additional languages will be considered an asset
