Client Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional who would like to manage a varied client portfolio while gaining exposure to local and international clients across a range of dynamic industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing management accounts and statutory submissions, and ensuring that all work is completed in line with regulatory requirements and agreed deadlines.

What is expected of you?

• Prepare, maintain, update, and finalise accounting records for a portfolio of clients
• Process technical and non-technical accounting information within the relevant accounting systems
• Prepare and submit personal income tax returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with Maltese regulations
• Prepare monthly and periodic management accounts
• Prepare trial balances and support financial reporting processes
• Maintain accurate cash books, accounting journals, and supporting documentation
• Liaise with regulatory and supervisory authorities when required
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality across all accounting activities
• Monitor deadlines and ensure that client deliverables are completed accurately and on time
• Work closely with colleagues and other departments to provide a professional and high-quality service to clients

What are we looking for?

• ACCA qualification or a University of Malta degree in Accountancy
• Previous experience within an accounting function will be considered an asset
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be considered an asset
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Maltese
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established deadlines
• A proactive, adaptable, and self-motivated approach
• High levels of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
