Client Accounting Junior

Working alongside an experienced team of accountants, legal professionals, tax advisors, and corporate specialists, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of local and international clients across a variety of industries. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day management of client accounting portfolios, financial reporting, VAT compliance, and client engagements while developing valuable technical and commercial experience across multiple sectors.

What is expected of you?

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions for a portfolio of local and international clients
• Perform regular bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
• Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns and related compliance obligations
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures
• Assist senior accountants with month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Liaise with colleagues across the legal, tax, and corporate services teams on multidisciplinary client engagements
• Respond to client requests and provide administrative and accounting support where required
• Ensure client records and financial documentation are maintained accurately and confidentially
• Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and their accounting requirements
• Support senior team members with ad hoc accounting, reporting, and client-related tasks
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Perform any other accounting-related duties as required by management

  What are we looking for?

• Minimum A-Level in Accounting or an equivalent accounting qualification
• Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role will be considered an asset but is not essential
• Experience using accounting software will be considered an asset
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• A positive, proactive, and eager-to-learn attitude
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
