Our client, a leading financial services organisation in Malta, is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Disaster Recovery & Incident Management Specialist to join its IT Operational Resilience & Recovery team. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who is passionate about operational resilience, business continuity, and incident management within a complex enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the organisation's resilience by developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, coordinating responses to critical IT incidents, and supporting continuous improvements across disaster recovery and incident management processes. Working closely with IT teams and business stakeholders, you will help safeguard critical systems, minimise operational disruption, and strengthen the organisation's overall resilience against technology-related risks.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in disaster recovery, IT operations, infrastructure, or IT service management who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where resilience, collaboration, and continuous improvement are key.

What is expected of you?

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for critical IT systems and applications
  • Participate in risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and prioritise recovery activities
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure disaster recovery plans align with business continuity objectives, including Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)
  • Prepare, maintain, and update disaster recovery documentation, runbooks, playbooks, and incident response procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in regular disaster recovery testing exercises to validate recovery capabilities and identify areas for improvement
  • Support the delivery of training and awareness sessions on disaster recovery and incident response procedures
  • Coordinate the response to high-priority IT incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations
  • Monitor lower-priority incidents to identify recurring issues and emerging trends that may require preventative action
  • Support root cause analysis activities and contribute to implementing long-term corrective and preventative measures
  • Develop and maintain incident response documentation, escalation procedures, and operational guidelines
  • Work closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordinated incident response
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation to promote disaster recovery awareness and business continuity best practices
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, cyber threats, industry trends, and best practices relating to disaster recovery and incident management
  • Participate in training programmes, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance technical knowledge
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organisation's disaster recovery and incident management frameworks
  • Participate in an on-call roster and provide support within a 24/7 operational environment when required

    What are you expected to bring?

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within an enterprise IT environment together with an MQF Level 5 qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

OR

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience within an enterprise IT environment

OR

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience within an enterprise IT environment together with an MQF Level 6 Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery, business continuity, incident management, IT operations, infrastructure, or IT service management within an enterprise environment
  • Understanding of disaster recovery planning, business continuity principles, and incident response processes
  • Knowledge of Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs), risk assessments, and business impact analysis
  • Experience coordinating incident response activities and working with cross-functional technical teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement preventative improvements
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A proactive, resilient, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Previous hands-on experience with disaster recovery and incident management tools will be considered an asset
  • Professional certifications such as EDRP (Emergency Disaster Recovery Professional), ITIL, or similar certifications will be considered an advantage
  • An MQF Level 4 qualification in Pure Mathematics will also be considered an asset
