Finance Officer

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Finance Officer to join their Finance team in Malta.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to develop their experience within a dynamic working environment. The successful candidate will support the accurate processing of purchase invoices, supplier reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, stock takes, and other day-to-day finance activities.

What is expected of you?

• Review purchase invoices daily against the relevant supplier agreements and contracts
• Post purchase invoices accurately and promptly into the accounting system
• Identify invoice discrepancies and report them to the relevant departments for resolution
• Monitor supplier pricing and inform Heads of Department of any changes to support effective cost control
• Follow up on outstanding invoices identified through supplier reconciliations
• Prepare monthly accruals and maintain job sheet logbooks for the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Process capital expenditure invoices within the accounting and fixed assets systems
• Assist with administrative responsibilities, including licence and permit applications
• Support the Finance team during monthly stock takes by conducting spot checks
• Provide general assistance with finance-related responsibilities as required
• Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role

  What are you expected to bring?

• Previous experience in a finance, accounting, or similar administrative role
• A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be considered an advantage
• Good understanding of purchase invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and accruals
• Familiarity with accounting software or financial management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to identify discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with different departments
• A proactive, dependable, and flexible approach to work
