Head of Legal
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a warranted lawyer looking to play a key role within a growing professional services environment, providing expert legal guidance across corporate, commercial, regulatory, iGaming, and crypto-related matters.
What is expected of you?
- Lead, manage, and coordinate the legal team, fostering collaboration and high performance
- Provide expert legal advice to management and clients on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
- Advise clients operating within the iGaming sector on licensing, regulatory, compliance, and commercial matters
- Review and supervise legal work prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Maintain and uphold the firm's quality standards across all legal services delivered
- Allocate resources effectively by assigning tasks and responsibilities across client engagements
- Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, external legal counsel, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while keeping clients and partners informed of progress
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support the continued growth of the legal department
- Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key clients
- Support senior management with strategic legal initiatives and ad hoc client-related matters
What are you expected to bring?
- Warrant to practice law in Malta
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within a law firm or corporate service provider environment
- Proven iGaming legal experience is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of Maltese and international iGaming regulatory frameworks
- Strong expertise in corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
- Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement abilities
- High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
- Positive attitude with a collaborative and proactive approach
