About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Legal to lead and develop their legal function while overseeing a diversified portfolio of local and international clients. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a warranted lawyer looking to play a key role within a growing professional services environment, providing expert legal guidance across corporate, commercial, regulatory, iGaming, and crypto-related matters.

What is expected of you?

• Lead, manage, and coordinate the legal team, fostering collaboration and high performance
• Provide expert legal advice to management and clients on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
• Advise clients operating within the iGaming sector on licensing, regulatory, compliance, and commercial matters
• Review and supervise legal work prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy and quality
• Maintain and uphold the firm's quality standards across all legal services delivered
• Allocate resources effectively by assigning tasks and responsibilities across client engagements
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, external legal counsel, and internal stakeholders
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while keeping clients and partners informed of progress
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support the continued growth of the legal department
• Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key clients
• Support senior management with strategic legal initiatives and ad hoc client-related matters

What are you expected to bring?

• Warrant to practice law in Malta
• Minimum of 5 years' experience within a law firm or corporate service provider environment
• Proven iGaming legal experience is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of Maltese and international iGaming regulatory frameworks
• Strong expertise in corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
• Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement abilities
• High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
• Positive attitude with a collaborative and proactive approach
