Lead Project Coordinator

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Project Coordinator to join their growing team in Malta. Reporting directly to the Contracting Manager, you will take ownership of multiple projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate internal teams, manage client communication, oversee project documentation, and ensure all resources are effectively allocated while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

What is expected of you?

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor multiple projects to ensure timely and successful delivery
• Develop project schedules, timelines, and resource plans, including manpower and materials
• Organise and lead meetings with internal departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing regular updates on project progress
• Manage project variations, document meeting minutes, and ensure changes are implemented effectively
• Work closely with the Technical Department to coordinate project scheduling, quality control, and technical support
• Supervise Project Coordinators, ensuring all project documentation and reporting are completed accurately and on time
• Prepare and submit regular project progress reports to senior management
• Coordinate with the Design, Drafting, and Take-Offs teams to ensure project drawings are updated to reflect site changes
• Liaise with the Quantity Surveying team to resolve project cost queries and billing discrepancies
• Coordinate with the Stores and Deliveries team to ensure materials are available and delivered according to project schedules
• Ensure all required permits, licences, and regulatory approvals are obtained before project commencement
• Monitor compliance with health and safety standards across all project sites
• Identify project risks, resolve issues proactively, and ensure project objectives are achieved
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives

  What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or another relevant field
• Previous experience in project coordination or project management within the construction, mechanical, electrical, or building services industry
• Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and risk management
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise competing deadlines
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to make decisions under pressure
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software such as Microsoft Project
• Excellent command of English; knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset
• Valid Category B driving licence
• EU passport or valid authorisation to work in Malta
• Ability to provide a clean police conduct certificate
