Legal Advisor (Regulatory & Compliance)

What is expected of you?

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to clients operating within regulated industries, particularly fintech, digital assets, iGaming, and technology
• Support clients throughout licensing and authorisation processes with the Malta Financial Services Authority, Malta Gaming Authority, and other relevant authorities
• Assist clients throughout their operational lifecycle by preparing legal documentation, regulatory submissions, and compliance-related documentation
• Act as the main point of contact between clients, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders
• Support internal legal, regulatory, and corporate teams in meeting ongoing compliance obligations
• Assist with the planning, implementation, and management of regulatory compliance projects
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise clients on their impact
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, contracts, and legal documentation
• Provide legal support for corporate transactions, restructurings, and other corporate projects
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Legal, Regulatory, and Corporate Services teams
• Manage a portfolio of clients while delivering a high standard of legal and regulatory advisory services
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

What are you expected to bring?

• A minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in a similar legal role
• A Master of Advocacy (M.Adv), Doctor of Laws (LL.D), or equivalent legal qualification
• A valid warrant to practise law in Malta
• Experience advising clients within regulated industries such as fintech, digital assets, financial services, or iGaming
• Previous exposure to MFSA licensing processes and Maltese regulatory frameworks will be considered a strong asset
• Knowledge of AML/CFT compliance requirements will be considered an advantage
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
