Network Junior Installer

Our client is currently seeking a motivated Network Junior Installer to join their growing technical team in Malta. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career within network infrastructure and structured cabling.
Reporting to the Network Charge Hand, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of network systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects while working alongside experienced technicians.

What is expected from you?

• Assisting with the installation of structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre optic cabling
• Installing network infrastructure, including data racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, and related equipment
• Building, dressing, and terminating communication racks and network closets
• Running, routing, and securing network cables in both new and existing building
• Testing installed cabling using appropriate testing equipment to ensure quality and compliance
• Professionally labelling all network outlets, patch panels, and data points
• Performing maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on existing cabling installations
• Assisting with diagnosing and resolving basic network connectivity issues
• Supporting the installation and maintenance of network security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions
• Assisting with basic network administration tasks, including user account management and system backups
• Maintaining accurate documentation of installations, testing results, and maintenance activities
• Following installation procedures, technical drawings, and company standards at all times
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and reporting any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues
• Working at heights, on poles, or within confined spaces when required
• Supporting senior installers and technicians to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule

What are we looking for?

• A Secondary School Certificate (considered an asset)
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in network installations, structured cabling, telecommunications, or a related technical field
• A good understanding of the construction industry and site-based environments
• Basic knowledge of networking hardware, software, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques
• Familiarity with structured cabling systems and industry best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Physical fitness, including the ability to lift up to 25kg and work at heights or in confined spaces
• A valid European passport or the legal right to work in Malta
• A clean Police Conduct Certificate (required prior to employment)
