Network Senior Installer

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Network Senior Installer to join their growing technical team in Malta. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled networking professional looking to take on a senior role within network infrastructure and structured cabling.

Reporting to the Network Charge Hand, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of data networking systems while supporting and mentoring junior team members across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

What is expected from you?

• Install structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre optic cabling
• Install network infrastructure, including data racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, and related equipment
• Build, dress, and terminate communication racks and network closets
• Run, route, and secure network cables in both new and existing buildings
• Test installed cabling using appropriate testing equipment to ensure quality and compliance
• Professionally label all network outlets, patch panels, and data points
• Perform maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on existing cabling installations
• Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity, performance, and security issues
• Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies, equipment, and solutions to improve performance, reliability, and security
• Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including network topology diagrams, equipment configurations, and operational procedures
• Mentor and support junior network installers by providing technical guidance and sharing best practices
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, testing results, and maintenance activities
• Follow installation procedures, technical drawings, and company standards at all times
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and report any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues
• Work at heights, on poles, or within confined spaces when required

What are we looking for?

• Secondary School Certificate (considered an asset)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in network installations, structured cabling, telecommunications, or a related technical field
• Good understanding of the construction industry and site-based environments
• Strong knowledge of networking hardware, software, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity and infrastructure issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to mentor and support junior team members
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Physically fit, including the ability to lift up to 25kg and work at heights or in confined spaces
• Valid European passport or the legal right to work in Malta
• Clean Police Conduct Certificate (required prior to employment)
