Payroll & Accounts Officer

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an aspiring finance professional looking to build a long-term career in accounting and payroll while commencing ACCA studies. The selected candidate will work closely with senior team members, gaining exposure to financial operations, payroll administration, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance processes.

What is expected of you?

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and accounts
• Recording financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Reconciling payables, receivables, and bank statements
• Organising invoices, receipts, payroll documentation, and supporting records in both physical and digital format
• Assisting with client onboarding tasks, including ledger setup and initial data entry
• Preparing and processing payroll accurately and on time for assigned entities or clients
• Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, leave, and statutory contributions
• Processing payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and salary amendments
• Preparing payslips, payroll summaries, and payroll-related reports
• Liaising with clients regarding payroll inputs such as attendance and leave records
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts
• Supporting VAT returns, tax-related submissions, and statutory payroll filings
• Monitoring filing and payment deadlines to ensure compliance
• Supporting audit processes by preparing reconciliations and required documentation
• Assisting in identifying discrepancies and supporting corrective actions where required

What are you expected to bring?

• Minimum A-Level standard of education, preferably in Accounts, or an introductory Diploma in Accounting
• Strong commitment to commence and complete the ACCA qualification
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Willingness to learn accounting and payroll systems such as Xero and Shireburn Indigo
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and strong work ethic
• Previous office experience is considered an asset, though not mandatory
